Pacific Broadband Networks (PBN) and SMStv deploy optical nodes in Arizona State University system
The Americas, 30 June 2013 - Pacific Broadband Networks (PBN) announces that the Arizona State University in Phoenix, AZ, USA has deployed over 100 PBN optical nodes across the Arizona State University campus plus the associated laser optical transmitters and reverse path receivers in the headend. SMStv in Phoenix was chosen as the system integrator and performed the actual installation.
Ron Pence, VP of Engineering for SMStv, said that “one of the key reasons that the PBN system was chosen was because of the ability of PBN’s Network Management Software to monitor a carrier in the return path and automatically notify if power has gone off in a remote building location.”
