Denver, USA, 17 – 20 October 2017 – Pacific Broadband Networks (PBN), an Australian-founded HFC solution and product supplier, will demonstrate its latest OpenRPD product – PRIMA2000, connected to a Cisco cBR-8 at Cisco’s booth #987 at the upcoming SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2017.  Both DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 capability will be shown during the demonstration.

PBN’s PRIMA2000 is a 2 port, 1.2GHz, high RF output, 2x2 Remote-PHY node and serves as the foundation of PBN’s PRIMA product portfolio designed to address operator’s Distributed Access Architecture requirements.

PBN has successfully conducted a lab trial and demonstration of a similar Remote-PHY node with nbn – Australia’s new high-speed, wholesale local access broadband network.  PBN is also trialing an end-to-end OpenRPD solution with one of the largest Asia/Pacific Operators.

PBN is a leading global HFC supplier with over 20 years of experience in the development and delivery of operator specific optical transport platforms.  PBN’s AIMA3000 product range is used extensively by MSOs in the Asia/Pacific region.

"PBN is very excited to be at the forefront of the development of Remote-PHY node solutions.  In conjunction with several key technology partners, including Cisco, our team has developed solutions which deliver outstanding performance in a compact footprint.  For the Operator, this means we can provide the next step in HFC evolution whilst minimising the need for expensive outside plant remediation."  Ross Henricks, PBN, Senior Vice-President - Operations and General Manager – Asia/Pacific
