Bill Zhang is a foundational member of the Pacific Broadband Networks. He joined the company as an engineer in 1990, it was before PBN was formalized by Pacific Dunlop Limited as a specialized broadband group in 1994. One year after PBN’s formal establishment, Bill helped expand PBN’s presence in China, which became one of the most important markets for the company. In 1997, he participated in the management buy-out shifting PBN to a private standalone company and became a member of the core management team. Bill’s career has grown as PBN has developed and is deeply invested in the company. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors and the CEO. Under his management, PBN has built a stable and competent management team and is set for its continuous growth.
Before his time in Australia, Bill was selected for a competitive and prestigious work-study program in aerospace during the 1980s. His undergraduate studies at Harbin Engineering University paired with his MBA from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business gave Bill both the technical expertise and knowledge in business to help shape the structure and culture of the company.
Jeffrey brings over 25 years of senior finance executive experience in multinationals including Hutchison Whampoa, Royal Dutch Shell and Triumph International Group. He specialized in Greater China finance in early 1990s and then from 2003 further extended his coverage to Southeast Asia, Australia-New Zealand, India-Sri Lanka and parts of Europe and Africa. Apart from finance he has also held senior roles in sales & marketing and general management hence a wide scope of expertise in the commercial field.
Throughout his career he has been instrumental in setting up joint ventures in China, establishing manufacturing and retail operations in Asia, starting up sales & marketing, conducting mergers & acquisitions, process reengineering, systems implementation, internal control enhancement, corporate reorganization, building shared service centre and corporate strategic development. He has been actively involved in the full value chain from innovation, design, manufacturing and supply chain, to brand management, wholesaling, retailing and front-end sales. He has innovative expertise in online-to-offline and unified commerce along with strategic management, financial planning and management reporting. He leverages on relationship with audit firms, banks, financiers, lawyers, and authorities for the growing enterprises ecosystem.
Jeffrey is a fellow member of CPA Australia, HKICPA, CIMA and CGMA. He was educated in Australia with an accounting degree and an MBA. He was past President of CPA Australia Greater China Division in 2016, past Chairman of its Corporate Sector Committee and is currently a Councillor of the Divisional Council. He is an appointed Accounting Specialist Advisor to the PRC Ministry of Finance and is also a member of the Accounting Committee of the Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-HK-Macao Cooperation.
Bob is the Vice President of Sales in our European operation, with responsibility for all direct sales and reseller functions in the region, focusing on growing strategic customer accounts and partner relationships.
With over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications, cable and FTTx industries, Bob provides PBN with a highly experienced lead for our European business.
In previous roles, Bob had managed Sales, PLM and R&D focused teams, resulting in a full appreciation of the end-to-end lifecycle requirements that are important to customers for network deployment and ongoing operational success.
Having worked with major operators worldwide, Bob has insight into the key commercial and technical objectives required by operators to succeed and how PBN can facilitate for these objectives to be met.
His proactive approach to business development brings value and experience to our Europe and Global Sales team.
Bob holds both Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science degrees from the University of Dundee.
Born in Dundee, Scotland, Bob has called Cambridge home for the last 20 years.
Leon is the Vice President of Product and Marketing. He is responsible for PBN’s global product and marketing strategy. He and his team oversee the entire product lifecycle, from requirement definition through to after sales support. Leon joined PBN in 2011 as Marketing Manager. He led PBN’s Marketing activities undertaking successful branding exercises and trade show presentations. Leon has then worked in many different roles and projects, which have contributed significant growth to PBN's global revenue from 2014 to 2018.
Prior to joining PBN, Leon was a in-house consultant for a media group in Beijing, China. Leon has also worked as a Software Engineer for a European-based IT consulting firm in Taiwan.
Born in Taipei, Leon has lived in Taiwan, Spain, USA, China and Australia. His work and personal experiences make him a cross-cultural and cross-functional professional. Leon earned an MBA from IESE business school in Barcelona Spain.
Frank has nearly 20 years of experiences working in telecommunications and holds a Master degree of Communication and Information Systems from Peking University. Frank started his career at the Potevio Institute of Technology where he focused on WCDMA BTS and TD-SCDMA NodeB developments. He then went on to work in Panasonic’s R&D center to develop wireless transceivers and digital television systems. In 2011, Frank joined PBN as Director of Hardware Engineering, where he was responsible for moving the R&D center from Melbourne, Australia to Beijing, China. He has headed efforts to develop and produce PBN’s HFC platform, optical nodes, DOCSIS, and EPON products. Frank currently focuses on access network systems for both wireless and cabled communications. Frank is also the think tank of PBN’s Distributed Access Architecture and his team is working on innovative products and solutions to facilitate MSOs’ migration to digital access networks. Under Frank’s leadership, PBN developed a world-class optical HFC platform – AIMA3000 as well as PBN’s latest outside plant access platform – PRIMA.
Vicky Fan joined PBN as an accountant in 2003, she has been with the company for nearly 20 years. Coping with the company’s business needs, she is now responsible for PBN Global HRS and Operations. Over the years, to support PBN’s rapid business expansion, she also participated in the whole process of establishment and relocation of PBN’s factory in Tianjin, China, which equipped with the most modern production equipment in industry. Leveraging her rich experiences in Finance, HRS and Management, Vicky plays an important role in the development of PBN.
Vicky has obtained a bachelor’s degree in Accounting Management from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and a master’s degree in HRS Management from University of International Business and Economics.
